ICP Flash Sheet
While I've never listened to ICP myself, I grew up around a lot of people who did. In my later years growing up in a trailer park, I was one of the only metalheads surrounded by kids who listened to rap. The juggalos always felt like the middle ground. Similar to black metal with the facepaint, the drugs, and being an outsider. I could see the allure.
So when Insane Clown Paintings contacted me to do a sheet for their new book, I already had some familiarity. Even though it's not my culture, I didn’t want to feel like a poser. This is their world, not mine. But with heavy metal being the bridge between our worlds as a kid, I felt it necessary to homogenize both sides into one.
